"disconnect, to connect"
A movement to help millennials disconnect from their virtual existences for just a short while, and help them connect with the world around them. (aka, speaking to people in front of you).

Who?
At the next big think, we care about the way we are heading ( and what we are teaching our children too). We are trying to do our to part to influence each other to stay off our devices for a set time each day and engage in a real connection. We want to begin a worldwide movement that believes in disconnection, to connect.

What?
We all love life on our phones (and other devices). There’s no way we can think of life as it is today, without them. But as with everything, too much of a good thing, isn’t really good for anything. We want to challenge ourselves and you, your brand and its followers, to disconnect for just a while from our virtual existence, and connect with life as it used to be.  Have conversations over dinner, watch the sunset without taking a gazzilionth picture of it, savour your food without letting your instagram followers taste it first, walk on the pavement without tripping, watch your kids play instead of letting them watch others play on a screen…..you get the drift…

Why?
Other than for the looming health implications from having your neck permanently bent over, insomnia from blue-light emissions, the psychological side effects of social-media-peer-pressure to live picture perfect lives (only online!) and the inability to actually make conversation with mankind face-to-face, we can give you a couple more reasons why you need time off from your smartphones- but do you really need more?

How?
We have mini no-phones-allowed events- where people gather together, minus their phones and other devices, and connect with each other and the environment.
These events could take place many times throughout the year in various locations.  They could range from outdoor to indoor. We could even make existing events #divorcethedevice events…it costs nothing and it makes a world of a difference.

How can you help?
If you’re an organizer of a small scale event (open mics, musical performances, book clubs, student groups- anything goes) please contact us if you’d like to make your event a #divorcethedevice event.

If you are an artist we’d like to invite you to divorce your devices and contribute thought provoking art, sculpture, rhymes and music that cantered around the theme but that were also created in the hours when you were completely away from your devices.
The results can be exhibited at any divorce the device event where visitors (also without their phones and pads) can indulge in what was truly the other side of life without their devices!.

If you are a brand and you are willing to sponsor a large or small scale event specifically for #divorcethedevice please contact us.
